Please read and sign at the bottom Music Melee Online Terms Of Service Music Melee Online is here so that new artists can showcase and hopefully sell their music. We do however, have certain standards that must be upheld in order to provide a quality experience for all artists and customers of Music Melee Online. 1. NO OFFENSIVE MUSIC The music placed on Music Melee Online must not be offensive in nature. In plain english, the music must conform to FCC regulations in order to be played on over-the-air radio stations. As such, all music must NOT contain: vulgar language, sexual innuendo, or promote violence or intolerance of any kind. 2. MUSIC MUST NOT BE REGISTERED WITH A ROYALTY SERVICE There are several music copyright royalty services, including but not limited to, ASCAP, BMI and SESAC. If your music is registered with these services, they may not be uploaded to this site. Once a year, Music Melee Online will send a validation form via email for each song uploaded by the artist during the previous year. The artist will then respond to this validation form via email, reaffirming that each song is not registered with any royalty service. If the artist fails to respond to the validation email, the music will no longer be played on the Music Melee Online radio station until the validation is received by Music Melee Online. If a song is not revalidated, it will still be available for sale, but will not be played on the radio station. If at any time fines are assessed to Music Melee Online by a royalty service, the music will be removed from the radio station play lineup and the artist will be charged for these fines. Music Melee Online is here to help new and upcoming artists get their music out to the public. Since we do not make money by playing the music on our radio station, we feel this is a fair arrangement and one that must be upheld in order to keep our costs down. 3. PROCEEDS FROM MUSIC SALES We all hope that the music uploaded to Music Melee Online is purchased by everyone who comes to this site. In the event an artist's music is sold, the artist receive $0.50 US for each song purchased. All payments to the artist are made monthly. Payments for songs purchased will be made no later than the 15th of the following month in which they were sold. For instance, if a song was sold in April, payment to the artist would be made on or before the 15th of May. All songs are sold for $0.75 US per purchase with the exception of the weekly Melee winner. See Section 4 for rules regarding Melee winners and payment schedules. Artist payment is made via a free PayPal account ONLY. 4. THE MELEE Each week, all of the music uploaded to Music Melee Online the previous week, will be entered in the Melee. The Melee is a feature we offer at Music Melee Online to give artists a bit more visibility to the public. Users are encouraged to go to the Melee and vote for their favorite songs. They may listen to snipets from each entry and cast their vote. At the end of the week, the song with the most votes will be cast the winner and for the following week, that song will have a sales price of $0.99 US. ALL of the proceeds will go to the artist instead of the $0.50 US normally paid. At the end of that week, the song price will return to the normal $0.75 US sales price. Each song may only be in the Melee once. It is automatically entered the week after they were originally uploaded to Music Melee Online.
